CONTEMPORARY AFFAIRS

  • This course will examine current events in government and politics.

​

  • Students may eat during class (either breakfast in the fall or lunch in the spring)

​

  • Local, national, and international topics will be discussed.

​

  • Students should expect several take home tests with personal and thought- provoking questions; research papers; and handouts with optional/mandatory assignments

​

  • There are no prerequisites to take this course, other than the student being capable of high school level course work.

​

  • This course is worth 1/2 credit of high school Social Studies. Parents are responsible for managing the transcript for their student.  The teacher will communicate the end-of-course grade within 2 weeks of the final class date.

Texts Supplied by the Student:

  None are required.  

  Students are encouraged to subscribe to online or print resources to give them information about current events.  However, there are no required texts for the student to supply.
