Fun, Fitness & Focus and CPR/First Aid

These two courses will cover the 16-week semester, but a student may sign up for just one of the sections First Aid or Fitness if that is the preference.

  • This course starts with a 4-week CPR/First Aid certification module that can be a stand-alone class if we meet the minimum requirement of 10 students.  The certification is conducted by Lambert Training.  This course is also open to parents seeking a certification.

  • That is followed by Fitness, Fun and Focus--a 12-week course designed to make fitness and mindfulness enjoyable while promoting overall well-being.  Students will engage in weekly sessions filled with fun, energetic activities that include cardio, strength, flexibility and coordination exercises.

  • Activities are designed for minimal equipment and adaptable for indoor settings, making them transferable to any setting students find themselves in in the future.  This course emphasizes the enjoyment of movement through games, challenges and playful workouts.  In addition, mindfulness techniques and breathing exercises will be incorporated to help students manage stress, enhance focus and nurture a positive mindset.

  • Students will learn that taking care of our bodies is not only a lifelong endeavor but also a fun and rewarding journey that builds confidence, resilience and joy in every movement.

  • No special equipment or supplies are needed.  Students will need supportive shoes, modest clothing that can move with them, and a water bottle to stay hydrated.  Students should arrive dressed for class; there will be 5 minutes at the end for them to change clothes if they desire.  We will be going outside for some activities so students should dress accordingly for the weather that day.

  • Parents are encouraged to communicate directly with the teacher any modifications needed for their student.

  • Students who complete the 4-week CPR module will be certified in CPR and First Aid.  There is no required textbook for this portion of the course.

  • Students who complete the entire class will also earn 1/2 credit of high school PE.  There is no textbook required for this portion of the course.
