Intro To Engineering
One Year Class:
Spring Semester Only For Students from Fall
Does your teenager love to study science? Do you have a teenager who procrastinates and dislikes his science lessons? . . . or is your teen somewhere between those two extremes?
All teenagers are welcome to take this exciting class, where they will:

-
Discover basic engineering concepts through hands-on experiments and observations
-
Learn the basics of how engineers must think:
-
What questions need to be asked?
-
What experiments can help us figure out the answers to those questions?
-
What data should be noticed?
-
How should that data be recorded and analyzed?
-

Learn science topics that are often de-emphasized in traditional high school curriculums
Explore the science within the fields of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and many others.

This is a two-semester course. The spring term is only open to students who take the class in the fall.
Homework: about 3 hours per week. This will consist of reading, taking notes, doing research, and creating a project or poster or presentation.
Credit: Each semester, students earn ½ credit in Science (1 full credit for 1 full year). Parents are responsible for managing the transcript for their student. The teacher will communicate the end-of-course grade within 2 weeks of the final class date.
