MRS. KAREN BLACKARD​

Karen Blackard earned a B.B.A. in Business Computer Information Systems in 1985 from the University of North Texas.  She spent the next fifteen years working for Nortel Networks in Richardson, TX, where as part of her Product Management responsibilities, she created vast amounts of technical documentation, product user manuals, and presentations.  After the birth of her second child, she became one of the division's first telecommuting employees as a technical editor for training material. 

 

In 1999, Karen and her husband, Glenn, moved to Tucson, AZ where they began home-educating their three children.  Another job transfer brought them to Bristol in 2003.

 

Karen is an active member of St. Anne Catholic church where she has taught Sunday school, as well as, a computer class for their Middle School.  In addition to homeschooling her youngest child, she enjoys sewing and needlework, scratch cooking, reading, natural health and learning to play the mandolin.  Karen is also the creator of this website for Bristol Academy.

CLASSES

Mrs. Blackard began teaching English as a substitute for Mr. Hensley when he became ill during the Fall 2015 semester.
