Cooking

  • This cooking class will cover the basics of cooking and kitchen safety. We will learn how to properly use knives and other utensils, measure ingredients, and prepare various foods, including baking, grilling, frying, and smoking.

  • The food we will make together will include, (but is not limited to) cookies, casseroles, pizza, and fried chicken and biscuits (my favorite!). This class will encourage students to make the kitchen a fun place for them to be. Hopefully through this time your student learns to love the kitchen.

  • There will be two semesters of this course.  The fall semester is helpful to prepare for the spring semester, but is not a required pre-requesite.

  • There are no prerequisites for this course.

  • There is no homework for this course.

  • This course is worth 1/2 credit of High School Elective.  Parents are responsible for managing the transcript for their student.  The teacher will communicate the end-of-course grade within 2 weeks of the final class date.
